Sorani
Sorani is the primary dialect of Northen Iraq and in North-Western Iran. Most people from the cities of Erbil (Hewler), Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk in Iraq will use this language. (for Zakho and Duhok see Behdini) People from smaller towns and villages tend to say where they are from based on the nearest big city which will also be the name of a province or governorate. Sorani is also the most widely spoken language of Kurds in Iran. People from the cities of Serdesht and Kermanshah will speak Sorani even if it is not their mother tongue.
